After being picked up by Marco and his Dad we were driven to his parents house in Northern Las Vegas, but not before getting a brief tour of the strip. This was quite an experience as Marco Senior showed us how to drive in a city full of flashing lights, people everywhere, as we cruised with the beats of today's club hits blaring on the stereo. We went to bed with full stomachs, clean feelings, and tired bodies. We decided that this would be a good day to take off considering we had just pounded out the first 5 and our bodies were in much need of rest. We all slept in to around ten oclock and were greeted by fresh squeezed orange juice, and breakfast sandwiches and cantaloupe. After lazily doing laundry and watching some TV we decided to head out to the town and Marco even offered to drive us over to the Hoover Dam. Driving to the dam we realized how much travel was expedited by car versus the bikes we had been getting quite used too. The dam was definitely quite spectactular as we were thrilled by the incredible engineering that went into constructing the dam that provides most of Las Vega's Water. Marco provided quite a commentary on the politics behind the water wars and highlighted the fact that the water level on Lake Meade has been dropping for quite some time. We then returned to the city were we walked up and down the street and went in a few noteworthy casinos. The fountains of Ballagio provided quite a spectacle and the shear extravagance of Casar's Palace awed us as we toured through. The bright lights and the madness were definitely worth the experience but we returned home to Marcos were we spent one more night in luxury before returning to our tent which we called home.
